Norwegian Church Aid acts to save and protect human life in emergency situations.
Norwegian Church Aid strives to deliver the required aid at the right time, and provide the support that is most required at any given time. At the same time, we strive to strengthen the ability of the local communities to handle crises and preserve their dignity.
Norwegian Church Aid’s emergency response team coordinates and directs this work. This unit is specialised in the area of water and sanitation. The emergency response team works independently as well as in support of NCA’s country offices and partners in relevant regions. In an emergency situation, the staff of the emergency response team at NCA’s main office can depart immediately. In addition, the team can enlist extra personnel from a separate emergency force, meaning that extra resources are available when the need arises.

Norwegian Church Aid’s emergency response team cooperates with ACT (Action by Churches Together) and with the organs of the UN system.
