Communication for Change

Would you like to spend a year doing something different?

Communication for Change is Norwegian Church Aid’s exchange programme for young people who are interested in international issues and who like to travel.

Every year, Norwegian Church Aid recruits ten young Norwegians who are then sent to different countries in the South on a three-month study trip. There they learn about social, political and living conditions in their host country. The knowledge and inspiration the participants gain abroad is harnessed on their return when they are sent on an information and advocacy tour of schools accross Norway. The programme lasts for one academic year in total.

Six youngsters from partner organisations in Africa, Asia and Latin America are also recruited each year to the programme. Just as the Norwegian participants spend three months during the autumn in one of the countries in the South, the international participants spend three months in Norway in the spring. During their stay in Norway, they learn about a number of interesting topics, and are encouraged to interact with the Norwegian participants, travel around Norway together and experience many new and exciting things.

Communication for Change is a year that is engineered to present the participants with new ideas and challenges. It's certainly a year they will never forget.
